SEOUL WEEKEND UPDATE (July 9 - 12)
Curated by GSTV — Go somewhere your algorithm didn’t recommend.

Not gonna lie, the 2nd week of July is super stacked with events, you better be outside this week-end.
This week the city splits into two people: the one dancing until the trains start running again, and the one perfecting a slow, screen-free Sunday in Seochon. Somewhere in between, there's a hanok village hosting a rave before lunch, a trivia night, an Afro Beats party and enough peach makgeolli to make you forget you had other plans.
Whatever you pick, you're not picking wrong. Just don't plan on Monday being productive.

ONGOING
🖼️ CULTURAL EVENTS & ART EXHIBITIONS
Estelle Tcha: 'Forever is the Air Between Us' (Apgujeong)
Jul 10 – Aug 1 | WORKS WORKS | Free (Open reception Jul 10, 3–8 PM)
Estelle Tcha is a multidisciplinary artist who moves between painting, wearable art and installation, previously stitching her own constellation paintings onto vintage Dior jackets under her 'eee' project. This solo show reimagines the ship-jangsaeng, Korea's traditional ten symbols of longevity, as studies in the space between things rather than the symbols themselves. Catch the opening reception Friday evening, or swing by through August 1 for a quieter read of the same work.
Holiday Records x Turndown Service Flea Market (Yeonnam)
July 11 - 12 | 12 PM – 8 PM | Turndown Service | Free
A vinyl lover's first solo flea market lands at one of Yeonnam's favorite listening bars. Browse crates of playable 12-inch records alongside rarer 7-inch pieces kept for display only, all while nursing a coffee in one of the neighborhood's most relaxed corners. It runs both Saturday and Sunday.
Kompakt Record Bar Archive Market (Sinsa)
July 3 – 12 | 2 PM – Midnight | KRB Showroom | Free
The renowned Kompakt Record Bar open-sources their personal collections for a massive multi-day archive marketplace. Dig through rare grooves, vintage books, designer items, and art objects curated by local mainstays like Gyu-Seo, alongside a custom ₩5,000 budget digging box.
The Garden of Simwon: Ink and Silence (Gangnam)
Jul 2 – Jul 17 | Atelier Achae | Free
Park Kyung-mook's ink washes turn a Gangnam gallery into a meditation room. Black rocks and empty space stand in for actual thoughts, built entirely from ink bleeding into canvas rather than anything literal. It's a five-minute walk from Eonju Station and open through July 17, a solid weekday detour if the weekend calendar is already full.
2026 Yeowoorak Festival (Jangchung-dong)
Jul 3 - 25 | National Theater of Korea | ₩35,000
Korea's traditional music festival turns 17, pairing pansori and gugak musicians with names from far outside the genre for one-off crossover sets. A short walk from Dongguk University Station. If your idea of "our music" stopped at what your grandparents played, this lineup is built to change that.
THURSDAY - CLOCK OUT, GO OUT 🍸
Kano Social: Afterwork (Itaewon)
6:30 PM - Late | Dolce Vita | FreeKano's weekly afterwork mixer sets up at Dolce Vita for an easy Thursday wind down, no agenda beyond good conversation and meeting people outside your usual circle. DEADEND x WETHROWABASH (Gangnam)
10 PM – Late | LION SUPER CLUB | ₩35,000 (+2 drinks)Two of Seoul's defining party crew cross paths for the first time. DEADEND has spent over a decade as the antidote to mega club culture, and WETHROWABASH has spent the last few years connecting people through pure sound and energy. THAT’S THE WRAP ⏰
Another weekend, another impossible decision.
Seoul really said pick a lane, then built twelve of them just to mess with you. Pool parties, pansori, peach makgeolli, a rave before breakfast, take your pick, they're all valid.
Whatever you choose, go somewhere you've never been before. Talk to the stranger next to you at the bar. We'll see you somewhere around the city.
