SEOUL WEEKEND UPDATE (July 30 - Aug 2)
Powered by GSTV — Turning FOMO into a to-do list

The rainy season is done and the heatwave is back running the city, but, like French people say “n’ayez crainte” (don’t worry), the whole weekend has quietly organised itself around water, rooftops and AC heavy rooms.
This week-end, there is a full-blown Colombian festival with live salsa, a bunch of rooftop hangouts and some fun concept events for us to enjoy.
And when the heat wins, the city has you covered with a free beach in Gwanghwamun and a stretch of Cheonggyecheon you can literally stand in.

ONGOING
🖼️ CULTURAL EVENTS, ART EXHIBITIONS & SUMMER THINGS
2026 CHEONGGYECHEON WATER SPLASH (Gwanghwamun)
Fri–Aug 9, 11 AM – 6 PM | Cheonggyecheon | Free
For ten days the city opens a 120-meter stretch of Cheonggyecheon near Cheonggye Plaza for you to step in, cool your feet, and chill through the stream. A very rare and simple break from the heat in the middle of downtown. Bring water shoes cause the riverbed is slippery (you’ve been warned haha).
2026 SEOUL SUMMER BEACH (Gwanghwamun)
Through Aug 9 | Gwanghwamun Square | Free
The city dropped a beach in the middle of downtown. Gwanghwamun Square and Sejongno Park now hold a swimming pool, a water slide, a bounce pool and a sand hideout, plus food trucks and a flea market, all free to walk into between 1 PM and 9 PM. Swimsuit and swim cap are both mandatory.
INCHEON PENTAPORT ROCK FESTIVAL 2026 (Incheon)
Fri–Sun | Songdo Moonlight Festival Park | Ticketed
Korea's biggest rock festival comes back for three days, 66 acts across the weekend at Songdo. Yes, it’s in Incheon, but for anyone who wants their summer soundtracked by a proper festival lineup rather than a single club room, this is one is for you. Camp it, day-trip it, however you want it, just go with a plan for the heat and the trains/rides home.
DDP VACANCE MUSIC FESTIVAL (Dongdaemun)
Fri–Sun, 4 PM – 11 PM | DDP Oullim Square | Free
If Incheon is too far, DDP brings the summer-night festival downtown. Live music, food, and cold drinks under the curves of Dongdaemun Design Plaza, running late into the evening across all three days. An easy, no-ticket way to get the festival feeling without leaving the city.
BREATHING (숨 쉬는 중) GROUP EXHIBITION (Heyri, Paju)
Jul 28 – Aug 9 | Art Center White Block | Free
A group show from the 2026 ACK artist-and-critic matching program, Breathing gathers its selected artists at Art Center White Block up in Heyri Art Valley. It is a proper day-trip out to Paju rather than a quick Seoul stop, but the payoff is a considered, curated show in one of the country's better gallery spaces, with the whole Heyri art village to wander around it.
THURSDAY - WHITE WINE AND LISTENING ROOMS 🎧
HOTEL CAPPUCCINO: WHITE HOUR (Gangnam)
5:30 PM – 8 PM | Hotel Cappuccino Rooftop | ₩30,000When the evening calls for white wine, which in this heat is most of them, Hotel Cappuccino pours unlimited Sauvignon Blanc on its Gangnam rooftop from half five. Thirty thousand won for as much as you can drink before 8PM, with fifteen percent off any food you order alongside. A cool, low-effort and wine heavy way to start the weekend.
ARCA XXXXX LISTENING PARTY (Itaewon)
9 PM – 3 AM | Kockiri | ₩20,000Visla and a deep DJ cast build a full night around Arca, one of the most fearless voices in experimental electronic music. Ligrye, who opened for Arca back in 2019, leads a rotation that leans into the strange and the beautiful in equal measure.
COOGIE: HBK RELEASE PARTY (Itaewon)
10 PM – Late | SOAP Seoul | ₩25,000Coogie marks his third LP, HBK, with a release party at SOAP, and few rappers in Seoul carry a room quite like he does. Expect the new record played loud and the catalogue that built his name filling out the rest. A strong, hype way to open a heavy weekend on a Thursday night in Itaewon.
FRIDAY - VERSATILE NIGHT 🔊
CASA BURGER NIGHT (Itaewon)
6 PM – Late | Casa Corona | Free Entry (Burger ₩10,000)One night only, Sunday Burger Club takes over the Casa Corona rooftop with a limited run of Oklahoma onion cheeseburgers built off a 1920s recipe. Two floors of DJs run alongside, with Better and Grace Kim among other DJs, until late that night. Rooftop views, a proper burger, and a soundtrack, the recipe for a very chill night if you ask me.
LOVE SONG ONLY (Apgujeong)
7 PM – 3 AM | Lowkey | FreeThis friday, Lowkey got one simple rule: love songs only. Hip-hop, R&B, and K-pop, but strictly the ones about being in love, so when a track you know drops you are expected to sing it loud. Jamflat, Laundryday and friends run the night from seven till three. Sweet, silly, and a lot more fun than it has any right to be.
SEOUL CITY IMPROV: FRIDAY LIVE COMEDY (Samgakji)
8:30 PM | Funtastic Theater | ₩10,000 (BYOB)Seoul's premier bring-your-own-booze improv night returns with international guest Brian Hawkes on the bill. Fast, unscripted, English-language comedy in a small theater near Samgakji, with your own drinks in hand and no reservations, so turn up early for a seat.
THE ROOF SEOUL: DJ MRZ (Myeondong)
9 PM – 11 PM | The Roof Seoul | FreeThe first regular weekend session after the rains, with French DJ and producer MRZ working ’90s-rooted house and techno through deep house, UK garage, and French touch. PLASTIC BAR: SOULSCAPE (Apgujeong)
9 PM – 2 AM | Plastic Music Bar | FreePlastic calls in Legendary OG DJ Soulscape just as his Love Is A Song 12-inch makes him even harder to pin down. No frills, no big production, just a great DJ and a good room on a Friday night.
DRAMA CLUB: GINCHY (Seongsu)
9 PM – 3 AM | Undercity | ₩25,000The global series curated by London's Ginchy, a fixture on A State Of Trance and Ultra Resistance stages, makes its Korean debut in Seongsu. Progressive house melodies meet the drive of melodic techno, with Nathassia and Terry Golden along for the first Seoul edition.
SIDE B: SUMMER VACATION (Itaewon)
10 PM – 5 AM | SOAP Seoul | ₩20,000 (+1 drink)DAUL and OUIDAEHAN co-host SIDE B, where each DJ plays the side of themselves the main stage never gets. This edition's theme is summer vacation: loose, warm, and melodic hip-hop leaning, with live turns from KIRIN and KHAKII.
DUMBO DISCO WITH KIMOJI (Itaewon)
11 PM – Late | Nyapi | ₩25,000Dumbo Disco crew throws an eclectic disco night at Nyapi with Indonesian dancefloor DJ Kimoji, founder of the Terribly Measured remix series, on his way through from Melbourne. You also got Cozyhoon, Imogene, and rising names Yura and Hayeon to spin the decks, with a Pumba pop-up of oddball accessories on the side.
GLOBAL CALLING: SEVEK (Cheongdam)
11 PM – 6 AM | Lion Super Club | ₩30,000Brazilian producer SEVEK brings the piano hook that took over dancefloors worldwide, his Öwnboss collaboration Move Your Body, remixed by Tiësto. Fresh off Tomorrowland, Ultra, and Lollapalooza main stages, he lands at Lion for a proper big-room EDM night. If you want festival-scale energy inside a club, this is Friday's loudest room.
