SEOUL WEEKEND UPDATE (July 23 - 26)

Compiled by GSTV — saving your weekends since 2025

Seoul has officially given up pretending to be normal.

This weekend alone: a beach in the middle of Gwanghwamun, a bedtime story with free wine, a hotel pool party, Banksy’s newest exhibition, a fundraiser for stray cats and E SENS somehow performing inside a club.

Whether you’re chasing sunrise, sunset, or somewhere in between, we’ve got you covered.

ONGOING
🖼️ CULTURAL EVENTS & ART EXHIBITIONS

H&M x MLMA: ME LOVE ME A LOT (Seongsu)
Jul 22 – Late Aug | H&M Seongsu | Free
Seongsu multi-artist MLMA takes over H&M Seongsu top to bottom, reworking the façade, a set of secret chambers, and the whole third floor into one immersive walk-through where contemporary art and fashion collide. Free to wander, up for about a month. Worth going out of your way for.

Estelle Tcha: 'Forever is the Air Between Us' (Apgujeong)
Jul 10 – Aug 1 | WORKS WORKS | Free
Our friend and one of the sharper young artists working in Seoul right now, Estelle Tcha, has her solo show up at WORKS WORKS in Apgujeong Rodeo through the start of August. Step inside Forever is the Air Between Us for work that lingers a lot longer than the walk home. If you see one exhibition this month, make it this one.

BANKSY: STILL HERE (Yeouido)
Jul 22 – Nov 3 | ALT.1, The Hyundai Seoul | ₩23,000
The world's most famous anonymous artist lands in Yeouido. Still Here gathers the images and major projects that built his reputation, moving through war and peace, satire and solidarity, and asking why a man nobody can identify still dominates the conversation. It only opened today (Wednesday), so the queues have not caught up yet.

2026 SEOUL SUMMER BEACH (Gwanghwamun)
Through Aug 9 | Gwanghwamun Square & Sejongno Park | Free
The city dropped a beach in the middle of downtown. Gwanghwamun Square and Sejongno Park now hold a swimming pool, a water slide, a bounce pool and a sand hideout, plus food trucks and a flea market, all free to walk into between 1 PM and 9 PM. Swimsuit and swim cap are both mandatory. It runs into August, but a heatwave weekend is exactly what it was built for.

THURSDAY - THE WEEKEND STARTS WITH A BANG ❗️

  • VIBE IN BOLERO II (Itaewon)
    10 PM – 6 AM | Bolero | ₩20,000

Vibe Campus, the hip-hop heavy party crew, returns to Bolero for a second run, and this one leans on live sets before the DJs take over. Bryan Chase, Jew Ian and audiogothh handle the performances, then a seven-deep rotation including Skiida carries it through to six in the morning.

  • SOUNDCLASH THURSDAYS: BOBBY (Cheongdam)
    10 PM – Late | Lion Super Club | ₩40,000 (+2 drinks)

Soundclash returns to Lion Super Club with a live performance from Rapper and Singer BOBBY, and the wide room is built for exactly this kind of nights. A deep rotation of Seoul's sharpest selectors runs either side of the set, so the energy never dips in the handover between live and DJ.

  • SERA PRESENTS: THROWBACK THURSDAY (Apgujeong)
    10 PM – 4 AM | TIMES | ₩15,000

Back when every song was a hit. DJ Sera runs a throwback night at TIMES built entirely on the tracks you already know every word to. No concept beyond good nostalgia and a full floor, which is exactly the point on a Thursday. Bring the friends who swear they don't dance; this is the room that proves them wrong.

FRIDAY - CATS, HIP-HOP, R&B, AFRO AND TECHNO 🐈‍⬛

  • AFRO VIBE REUNION 2026 (Noksapyeong)
    6 PM – 12 AM | Seoul Community Radio | Free

Six DJs, one vibe, pure Afro energy. SCR's Afro Vibe Reunion pulls PNG (who killed in on the decks at Gaesori vol.3) and more selectors together for a full evening of Afrobeat broadcast live from the Noksapyeong studio. It is exactly the kind of session we live for: a tight room, deep African grooves, and a crew that clearly loves this music. Come through in person, or catch it on the YouTube live stream (SCR channel) if you cannot make it down.

  • YONGSAN CATS FUNDRAISER NIGHT (Itaewon)
    7 PM – Late | Sunset Beach | ₩10,000 (+1 drink)
How about starting your weekend by rescuing stray cats? This is Yongsan Cats’ mission with a fundraiser night. Live performers, mini flea market and people with a bright soul gathering for a good cause. Every won of your entry donation goes straight to Yongsan Cats. Ten percent of the bar takes the same route. Good music, cold Stella, better cause.

  • SALOMON ICONS: WEEK 3 (Seongsu)
    7 PM – 2 AM | Salomon Seongsu → Kompakt Record Bar | Free

Week three of the Seongsu series. PHILLIP takes the decks at the Salomon flagship alongside a live set from singer-songwriter HYUNGSUN, then everything moves down the street to Kompakt Record Bar where SOMEONE, UMMJABE and Cityboy From Seoul run it to close. Swing by the Salomon store during the early session and you get a Kompakt happy-hour coupon.

  • SOFIA ISELLA: HER DESIRE, THE NEMESIS TOUR (Hongdae)
    8 PM | Rolling Hall | ₩99,000

Sofia Isella is twenty, plays violin, writes like a poet, and has already opened for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour and held a crowd at Wembley in England. Her first Korean show lands at Rolling Hall, built on amazing lyricism and full-blown theatrical staging.

  • BROWN PISTACHIO LAUNCH & NETWORKING NIGHT (Cheongdam)
    10 PM – 1 AM | Cafe Curious | ₩35,000

Japan's cult pistachio syrup brand lands in Korea and Cafe Curious throws it a party. Networking with cafe owners or people interested from 8PM to 10PM. Then, the doors open to everyone at 10 PM for live sets from MRSHLL, KATIE 🖤 and HANNAH. Come for the syrup, stay for the K-R&B, leave with somebody's business card.

  • PRECTXE CURRENT: KELLY LEE OWENS (Seongsu)
    9 PM – 3 AM | Undercity | ₩66,000

Six hours of sound in Seongsu, and the bill is properly stacked. Welsh producer Kelly Lee Owens, who has worked with Björk, Jon Hopkins and Daniel Avery, plays an exclusive 120-minute set off the back of her acclaimed Dreamstate album. Nosaj Thing, the LA producer behind records for Kendrick Lamar and Kid Cudi, fills the middle, with Seoul's Yetsuby opening. Techno and ambient, fully immersive.

  • E SENS: KING IS BACK (Itaewon)
    10 PM – 5 AM | GLOW & ZALZ | ₩30,000

For a lot of people E SENS simply is the argument for Korean hip-hop, and the ten-year reissue of his landmark album has him back on stages that matter. Instead of a festival field he takes an intimate Itaewon club for one night, which is a very different way to hear those iconic verses land.

  • ILLSAMGONGGONG ALBUM LAUNCH (Itaewon)
    10 PM – 4 AM | Grain Haus | ₩30,000

1300 marks the ILLSAMGONGGONG album with a launch that reads closer to a festival lineup. GIRIBOY and Bassagong take live slots alongside 1300 and Hypnosis Therapy, then six DJs including Ugly Duck carry it through to four in the morning. Universal Music Korea is behind this one, which explains the depth of the bill. If your Friday needs Korean rap at full volume, this is the room.

  • BLANK SITE: ALL NIGHT LONG (Itaewon)
    10 PM – Late | Blank Site | ₩15,000

Two DJs, one unbroken set, sunrise finish. DJ Botermelk builds the room from ten, then Shlemba (who took over the deck cat Gaesori vol.3 last week) takes the floor at midnight and holds it until the sun comes up, moving through bouncy grooves, deep house, techno and electro with no handover breaks.

  • HARD TECHNO X HARDCORE: 155/190 BPM (Sinsa)
    11 PM – 7 AM | Luka | ₩15,000

Hardcore Vol.2 opens at hard techno and climbs to a properly punishing 180 to 200 BPM by the end. Luka flies in three guests from three countries, Fischmonger from China, LonSkii from Thailand and Miyuki Omura from Japan, for eight straight hours of hard techno.

SATURDAY - RAVE AT DAWN, SWIM AT DUSK 🌆

  • DISCO AEROBIC MORNING RAVE (Bukchon)
8 AM – 10:30 AM | KAHI YLESS Bukchon | Free (RSVP Required)

Yes, a rave at eight in the morning, in a hanok neighbourhood, for free. HONEY L and SUNGYOO warm the room before DJ MINJI runs the Disco Aerobic set, which sounds probably harder than you expect. Two zones, one on speakers and one silent disco, plus free caviar cake, tteokbokki, coffee and colour analysis. Register before Friday, Register: free sign-up form

  • SEOUL CHESS CLUB: OFF THE CLOCK (Hannam)
    1 PM – 4 PM | FEZH Hannam | ₩30,000

A chess festival that opens with meditation. FEZH Hannam hosts an afternoon built around slowing down: a chess-themed meditation session, open social play, then a mini tournament for anyone who wants the competitive version. All levels welcome, and the wellness framing makes it far less intense than it sounds. Register: here

  • WEOUTSSIDE MUSIC VIDEO LAUNCH (Haebangchon)
    4 PM - Midnight | Dialogue | Free

The Outsside crew unveils its biggest project yet with a music video launch at Dialogue, and the extras are the sell: free tattoos, a pop-up merch shop, guest performances, and live hip-hop running into the night. It is the kind of scrappy, everything-at-once night Haebangchon pulls off better than anywhere else in the city.

  • AY MAMITA: MEXICO DAY (Jamsil)
    5 PM - Midnight | Ay Mamita | Free

Free dorilocos, free micheladas, free Mexican snacks, and Chingu Amiga filming the whole thing for YouTube. Ay Mamita turns Saturday into a full Mexican block party running seven hours deep, with a live rotation moving from Bluebird and Oomo Ope through Jungle Han and Dat.Sit Korea before PhreDdy closes it out. Costs nothing to walk in and eat. Expect it to be busy.

  • 232 SELECTOR FOCUS: OUIDAEHAN (Itaewon)
    6 PM – 2 AM | 232 | Walk-in

232 hands its Saturday Selector Focus to OUIDAEHAN, a producer and DJ who has worked on records for MIRANI and BLASÉ. He moves comfortably across house, UK garage and bass, but this set stays rooted in hip-hop and R&B. His window is 9:30pm to 11pm, so time your arrival accordingly.

  • CHOROK: ZENE THE ZILLA 1ST CONCERT (Hongdae)
    6:30 PM | Musinsa Garage | ₩66,000

Eight years in, Zene the Zilla finally headlines his own concert, and the Ambition Musik crowd has been waiting very loudly for it. CHOROK is a full standing show rather than a festival slot, so expect the deep cuts next to the ones everyone already knows. Every attendee walks out with a bandana made with VANDYTHEPINK. Tickets are exclusive to the 29CM app/website.

  • THE OASIS POOL PARTY: CHOPSTICK GANG (Namsan)
    8 PM – 2 AM | Banyan Tree Seoul | ₩80,000 (+1 drink)

The Banyan Tree deck keeps its Orange Club run going, and this Saturday belongs to Chopstick Gang, the project group built around hip-hop and YouTube figure Jeong Sang-su. Poolside, skyline, and a set that leans a lot more playful than the usual. Standard entry covers a drink, with group sunbeds available if you are rolling deep. Seoul's most reliable summer Saturday.

  • IF YOU DON'T DRINK, MAYBE NEXT TIME (Konkuk)
    9 PM – 1 AM | B.ad | ₩20,000 (+2 drinks)

The title tells you everything. B.ad runs a four-hour party where entry buys a welcome shot, a cocktail and a lucky draw at eleven. Himalaya's PartySmart is sponsoring, so everyone leaves with hangover pills and a lip balm.

  • ROSSO: SKY SOCIETY (Hannam)
    10 PM – Late | ROSSO | ₩20,000 (+1 drink)

Gyusco invites Sky Society, a fixture of the New York and Pennsylvania vinyl scene who has worked alongside Skeme Richards and Chez Damier, down to the Hannam basement. Brother J and Jenn support across disco, funk, R&B and hip-hop under a Good Groove Music Only banner.

  • MORE BREAKS x GROW THE CULTURE (Itaewon)
    10 PM – 6 AM | Cakeshop | ₩20,000

More Breaks brings Grow The Culture over from Tokyo, the collective and label sitting at the front of the Japanese underground, fresh off launching Asia's first bass music festival. Grime and jungle, eight hours of it, in the Cakeshop basement.

SUNDAY - ART, POEMS, PYJAMAS & FREE PLAY  📖

  • THE WET: JUNGBOK MEET-UP (Insadong)
    12 PM – 3 PM | KOTE | Free (Lunch ₩10,000)

The Wet marks Jungbok, one of the hottest days of midsummer, with a recharge lunch and a meet-up for curators and artists plotting their next move. Over a hearty chicken meal at KOTE in Insadong, the collective pre-releases details of its global open calls for exhibitions in Lyon and Kyoto. Artist Sohyun Park gives a talk on choosing Lyon over Paris (Andy Sama strongly disagrees lol) and getting a foot in gallery doors first.

  • NON-FICTION BOOK CLUB: POETRY (Yeonnam)
    4 PM – 6 PM | Yeminham Haus | ₩15,000 (+1 drink)

This round of the Yeminham book club takes on poetry, and you do not need to know a thing about it going in. Bring a poem or a collection that stuck with you, in any language, and talk through the images and what the words are actually doing. There is a low-pressure writing exercise at the end for anyone who wants it.

  • SIIIIDO ROOFTOP COCKTAIL SOCIAL (Hongdae)
6 PM – 9 PM | Oksang Rooftop Bar | RSVP via link

Sunday, a Hongdae rooftop, and a bartender handling the drinks so you don't have to. Siiiido takes over Oksang for a cocktail social built around a summer sunset and conversation with people you have not met yet, and you are welcome to linger on the roof until midnight once the program wraps.

  • XXIT VOL.1 (Hannam)
    7 PM – 2 AM | Stoked & Stoned | Free

TIXX launches a new party series by pulling six of the DJs actually driving Seoul's local scene into one Hannam room. DJs YANN, ANTON and the rest trade genre-blending sets built to push past whatever is sitting in your saved playlists. Free entry, seven hours of it, on a Sunday night. There is no real reason to be home.

  • HMMM BEDTIME STORY READING (Noksapyeong)
    8 PM – 10 PM | HMMM Showroom | Free (RSVP Required)

The only night you get to be a big baby. The founder, Mia Kaitlyn Lee, reads from Book With Pictures for Big Baby, a picture book written for adults where storybook colour meets psychedelic art and funny rhymes. Free wine, pyjamas encouraged, blankets welcome. The reading is fifteen minutes at 8:30. RSVP: here

THAT’S THE WRAP

The hardest part of it all isn’t finding something to do. It’s deciding what to skip. This weekend is yet another reminder of why we all love Seoul in the first place.

Whatever you choose, we hope it’s somewhere you’ve never been before.

See you outside 😎
