SEOUL WEEKEND UPDATE (July 16 - 19)

Curated by GSTV — we read every flyer so you don't have to

Brace yourselves, this week runs the full range!

A GSTV Event, a Skaiwater concert, a rooftop pool party 34 floors up, a block party where the DJs perform on treadmills, jazz musicians jamming with drum and bass, comedy, crochet, a punk zine fair, and a soybean-noodle cocktail party that should not work but absolutely does. And it all opens with our own night, GAESORI Vol.3.

Whether you are chasing house music above the skyline or spinning vinyl inside a century-old hanok, this weekend has your name on it. Let's get into it.

FEATURE EVENT OF THE WEEK
⛓️ GAESORI VOL.3 @ SOAP

If you only pull up to one thing all week, make it this one. GAESORI is back for Vol.3, and we are taking over the SOAP Seoul basement in Itaewon with the multi-genre night we built for Seoul's local and international crowd in one room. Hip-hop, house, R&B, Afro, baile funk, and UK sounds, all night. Vol.1 and Vol.2 sold everyone on the concept. Vol.3 is where it gets serious.

Pull up early, stay late, and bring the crew who always swear they'll come out. This is the one.

📅 Thursday, July 16
🕙 10PM - 4AM
📍 SOAP Seoul, Itaewon

ONGOING
🖼️ CULTURAL EVENTS & ART EXHIBITIONS

Estelle Tcha: 'Forever is the Air Between Us' (Apgujeong)
Jul 10 – Aug 1 | WORKS WORKS | Free (Open reception Jul 10, 3–8 PM)
Our friend and one of the sharper young artists working in Seoul right now, Estelle Tcha, has her solo show up at WORKS WORKS in Apgujeong Rodeo through the start of August. Step inside Forever is the Air Between Us for work that lingers a lot longer than the walk home. If you see one exhibition this month, make it this one.

CUT & PASTE: A KOREAN PUNK & HARDCORE ZINE FAIR (Sinchon)
Sat–Sun, 1 PM – 6 PM | Spin and Grind | Free
Spin and Grind digs into the paper trail of Korea's punk and hardcore scene. Zines dating back to the early 2000s go on show alongside fresh reprints for sale, plus live talks with first-generation zine makers and label founders, and vinyl DJ sets throughout. Runs both weekend days, and you can even learn to cut and paste your own. A properly different, deeply Seoul afternoon.

The Garden of Simwon: Ink and Silence (Gangnam)
Jul 2 – Jul 17 | Atelier Achae | Free
Park Kyung-mook's ink washes turn a Gangnam gallery into a meditation room. Black rocks and empty space stand in for actual thoughts, built entirely from ink bleeding into canvas rather than anything literal. It's a five-minute walk from Eonju Station and open through July 17, a solid weekday detour if the weekend calendar is already full.

2026 Yeowoorak Festival (Jangchung-dong)
Jul 3 - 25 | National Theater of Korea | ₩35,000
Korea's traditional music festival turns 17, pairing pansori and gugak musicians with names from far outside the genre for one-off crossover sets. A short walk from Dongguk University Station. If your idea of "our music" stopped at what your grandparents played, this lineup is built to change that.

THURSDAY - THIS ONE’S OURS 🐕‍🦺

  • GAESORI VOL.3 (Itaewon)
    10PM - 4AM | SOAP Seoul | ₩20,000 (+1 Free Drink)

GSTV's own party lands at SOAP Seoul for its third edition, a multi-genre night that runs hip-hop, house, R&B, Afro, baile funk, and UK sounds with an amazing line up of DJs. Vol.1 and Vol.2 built the crowd; Vol.3 turns it up. If you want to know what the city's local and international scene looks like in one room, this is the night. Full details in the featured section up top.

FRIDAY - SWEAT, SOUND & SKYLINES 🌆

  • BIJI SOUP BAR x SILLY APERITIVO (Seongsu)
    12 PM – 6 PM | Biji Soup Bar | Free

Two lower-Seongsu spots cook up the strangest crossover of the weekend: cup-held kongguksu (chilled soybean noodles with a bright lemon twist) and cocktails built on kongbiji soybean curd, all soundtracked by a DJ set. It is wellness food meets aperitivo hour meets dancefloor, probably a first anywhere in the universe. Runs at Biji Soup Bar on Friday, then continues at Silly Aperitivo on Saturday from 2 PM.

  • NOD SEOUL: GATHERING FOR CREATIVE MAKERS (Hongdae)
    3 PM – 11 PM | Maverick House | ₩10,000

Never Off Duty turns Maverick House into an eight-hour clubhouse for Seoul's creative class. Designers, musicians, photographers, and brand founders drift between live painting, a portrait archive, craft objects, and an exhibition while DJs run disco into ambient, minimal techno, garage, and baile funk. Live performances land mid-evening. If your group chat is more talk than collaboration, this is where the next project actually starts.

  • ZRO GRAVITY VOL.4: SKAIWATER (Hongdae)
    6 PM | Musinsa Garage | ₩80,000

GLDRINGZ ENT flies in Skaiwater, the UK artist blending rap and hyperpop into something the underground can't stop talking about, for a full blown show. The Gldringz Galaxy lineup stacks the bill with NO:EL, Molly Yam, and K4TON and DJs. This is the most hyped concert of the weekend.

  • SCR RADIO x GARMIN BLOCK PARTY (Itaewon)
6 PM – Late | Itaewon High Street | Free

This is a party disguised as a science experiment. SCR Radio and Garmin drag four DJs onto a custom treadmill stage where they walk, run, and spin live while a team logs their heart rate in real time, all to settle whether high-energy music actually hits the body harder. Two music stages, food, drinks, and prizes fill out the block.

  • YONGSAN DRAGON CITY POOL PARTY (Yongsan)
    6 PM – 12 AM | Dragon City 34F | Free (Guest List)

One of only four summer dates, this rooftop pool party sits 34 floors up with the whole Yongsan skyline as the backdrop. Expect headline DJs, poolside performances, and city lights once the sun drops. Guest-list entry is free, so it is an easy yes for a Friday that wants water, a view, and a beat without a cover charge.

  • SALOMON ICONS: SEONGSU SESSIONS (Seongsu)
    7 PM – 2 AM | Salomon Seongsu → Kompakt Record Bar | Free

Salomon's flagship kicks off week two of ICONS with a DJ set from HOOKUO and a live turn from singer-songwriter JUE, then hands the night to Kompakt Record Bar down the street. Soulscape, Jinmoo, and Oldshoes carry the record bar through to close. Walk in free, and swing by the store during the session for a Kompakt happy-hour coupon while they last.

  • INSIDE FLOW YOGA BEER PARTY (Hapjeong)
    7 PM – 8:30 PM | FoRRest | ₩40,000

FoRRest pairs a flowing Inside Flow yoga session with a low-key social hour, swapping the post-class silence for music, movement, and a room full of new faces. Non-alcoholic beer and finger food come included, so you get the wind-down without the hangover. Come alone or drag a friend; it is an easy, feel-good way to open a Friday before it gets crazy.

  • LIQUID MAP FEST (Itaewon)
    8:30 PM – Late | Nyapi | ₩35,000

Posture Club and Nyapi join forces for a genre-blurring festival across two stages, one rooftop and one indoor. Five live bands including Yangbans and Peach Truck Hijackers trade off with seven DJs, so the night swings between live-band energy and dancefloor sets without ever settling into one lane. The ticket drops to ₩25,000 after 11 if you are running on Seoul time.

  • CHILLING CITY (Seongsu)
    8 PM – 2 AM | Undercity | Free

Trade the dancefloor for a sofa. Chilling City turns Undercity into a low-lit salon where the night is about staying put: curated live-set videos, shisha, and easy conversation under Tom Dixon lighting instead of a peak-time push. This round debuts a grape-forward Neon Candy flavor, and entry is free with a one-drink minimum. Book a seat for two or a room for the crew. A slower, grown-up way to spend a Friday night.

  • Té "ANTHEMS FOR" EP RELEASE (Apgujeong)
    10PM - Late | Courte Café | RSVP (@MOONCFO)

marks the drop of new EP “Anthems For” with an intimate release party at Courte, where our own GAESORI first got going. Expect the record played properly in a room built for listening rather than a packed dancefloor. If you like catching a project the night it lands, in a space that lets the music actually breathe, get your name down.

  • 232 SPIN & STIR with DEUS EX MACHINA (Itaewon)
    10 PM – 5 AM | SOAP Seoul | ₩30,000 (+1 drink)

232 brings its second SPIN & STIR to the SOAP basement, this time with motorcycle-shop cool courtesy of Deus Ex Machina. Live sets from moyo (George, Thama, Sole) and Jason Lee open the room before a deep local DJ rotation keeps it moving until sunrise, with guest bartenders shaking cocktails on the side.
Perk: First fifty paying guests walk away with a limited 232 x Deus scarf.

  • UNBORN SOUNDS: CONNECT YOUR USB VOL.2 (Itaewon)
    10 PM – Late | GRAIN | ₩20,000

Unborn Sounds hands peak time to the next generation. Three DJs picked through its Connect Your USB program share the booth with Welcome Records veterans like Soulscape and Andow, backed by Maker's Mark, Spotify, and Mixmag Korea. It is a genuine on-ramp for Seoul's up-and-comers, played out on a proper Itaewon dancefloor.

SATURDAY - MARKETS, RAVES & PUNCHLINES 🍊

  • FLOWER COASTER CROCHET WORKSHOP (Yeonnam)
    1:30 PM – 4 PM | Yeminham Haus | ₩40,000

Trade the dancefloor for a crochet hook. Guided by Cassie, this beginner-friendly workshop teaches you to make flower coasters you take home the same afternoon, taught in English with French on hand if you need it. Materials and a cold drink are included, and seats cap at six, so it stays cozy. A calm, hands-on reset before the weekend ramps back up.

  • ONE DAY YOGA CLASS (VINYASA) (Mapo)
    2 PM – 3 PM | O Yoga Studio | ₩10,000

Ease into Saturday with an hour of Vinyasa breath and movement at O Yoga Studio. It is pitched at total beginners, so stiff hips and first-timers are welcome, mats provided, just bring comfortable clothes. One clean hour to loosen the body and clear the head before the weekend gets loud.

  • BIJI SOUP BAR x SILLY APERITIVO (Seongsu)
    2 PM – 7 PM | Silly Aperitivo | Free

Day two of the soybean crossover moves up the block to Silly Aperitivo. Same weird-in-the-best-way formula: lemon-bright kongguksu in a cup, cocktails built on kongbiji curd, and a DJ keeping the afternoon loose. If you missed Friday's round at Biji Soup Bar, this is your second shot at the most unexpectedly good hang of the weekend.

  • ITAEWON FLEA MARKET 2026 (Itaewon)
    4 PM – 10 PM | 190 Itaewon-ro | Free

Public, Ping, and Ground pull the club crowd into daylight for an open-air flea market where thirty sellers spread across a 130-pyeong space. Vintage finds, small brands, limited goods, live DJ sets, and pop-ups run from afternoon into the night. Anyone can browse, anyone can sell, and it is a rare chance to shop the Itaewon scene before it clocks in for the night.

  • DNB SEOUL: JAZZ LIVE x DRUM & BASS (Seongsu)
    6:30 PM – 12 AM | XIMXIM | Tickets in bio

One of the more ambitious ideas of the weekend: live jazz musicians and drum and bass DJs sharing one stage in Seongsu. The night travels from liquid and intelligent DnB into jump-up and neurofunk, with saxophone, piano, and drums improvising over the top. Expect a proper journey rather than a straight club set.

  • OKBA VINYL NIGHT: YES RHYTHM NO DANCE (Dongnimmun)
    7:30 PM – 2 AM | okba | Free

You will not find another Dongnimmun hanok spinning records like this. DJ SUN plays vinyl across soul, R&B, hip-hop, and city pop while NOTIKS digs into Brazilian cuts and the tracks that sampled them. It is a slow, grown-up kind of night: good wine, warm wood, and crate music inside a century-old Korean house. Walk in, pour a glass, and stay a while.

  • KISS & RIDE LIVE (Itaewon)
    8 PM – 2:30 AM | JJ Mahoney's | ₩30,000 (+1 drink)

Kiss & Ride bring a one-night-only ensemble to the Grand Hyatt's JJ Mahoney's: talkbox master Wonderlust, vocalist Otis Lim fresh off a funk album, plus violin and guitar weaving through R&B, soul, and funk. Prove a couple with a kiss at the bar and the shots are on the house.

  • OFFLINE PT.3: A NETWORKING EXPERIENCE (Itaewon)
    8 PM – 11 PM | Bistro Mexi | RSVP in bio

The 99 Brims turn Bistro Mexi into a low-pressure networking room for Seoul's international creative set. A live performance from Dreamcash and a rotating cast of DJs keep the energy up while you actually meet people, drink in hand. Third edition, and this time they promise the AC is working.

  • PULS PRESENTS: GRAINHAUS x JIM BEAM (Itaewon)
    10 PM – Late | GRAIN | ₩30,000

PULS takes over GRAIN for a Jim Beam-fueled Saturday with a special guest flown in from abroad and a stack of live performances. DJ Roots, KingMCK, and a deep local rotation run the booth late. First two hundred through the door grab a limited pineapple highball can to kick things off. A straightforward, high-energy Itaewon night for when you just want to dance.

SUNDAY - SOFT PAGES & LOUD GUITARS 📖

  • ROMANTASY BOOK CLUB (Yeonnam)
    1 PM – 3 PM | Yeminham Haus | ₩15,000 (+1 drink)

A cozy Sunday gathering for fantasy and romance readers. No assigned book and no homework: bring whatever you are reading, swap recommendations, trade favorite tropes, and get some quiet reading time in with people who love the same genre. A drink is included and the room stays small. An easy, wholesome landing before Monday shows up.

  • CUT & PASTE ZINE FAIR (Sinchon)
    1 PM – 6 PM | Spin and Grind | Free

Second and final day of the punk and hardcore zine fair. If Saturday got away from you, swing through Spin and Grind for the archive, the reprints, the talks, and the vinyl sets. See the Ongoing section up top for the full rundown.

  • SAAN VOL.001: HOUSE & TECH SESSION (Seobinggo)
    6 PM – 10 PM | SAAN | Free

SAAN opens its first DJ session with a low-key Sunday-evening spin through house and techno, the kind of set built for a summer wind-down rather than a peak-time push. Coffee, tea, and cocktails are on hand while Eugene, Isae, and a small local lineup keep the room moving. An easy and chill way to close the weekend before Monday, tucked into a quiet corner of Seobinggo.

THAT’S THE WRAP

Between a Skaiwater show, a rooftop pool, DJs literally running for their art, and a hanok full of vinyl, the only wrong move is staying in. So don't.

Wherever you land, go somewhere you've never been before, but also make sure to say hi to us this Thursday. We'll see you at SOAP on Thursday 😌

See you outside!!
