Winter has officially arrived in Seoul, and the city is leaning all the way in. Ice rinks are opening, lights are taking over public squares, and year-end parties are popping up everywhere: from rooftops to basements, galleries to cocktail bars.

It’s that moment of the year where the calendar fills up fast and staying home feels like a missed opportunity.

Here’s your Seoul Weekend Update for Dec 18–21.

Gallery STAN presents Lucky Charm, a playful and optimistic solo exhibition by Samuel Almansa, reinterpreting symbolic good-luck objects from both Eastern and Western cultures through his signature soft airbrush style. The city’s winter classic is back for 52 days, with warm “Wintering” lights and an opening ceremony at 5PM. Cheap, iconic, and genuinely fun even if you’re bad at skating.

Massive public media-art and lights in Gangnam! Easy “walk + photos + warm drink” program before you choose your night plans.

Winter riverside activities, markets, and seasonal programs—nice if you want a daytime reset before the weekend goes feral.

Gwanghwamun Market

Christmas market core: food, gifts, photo zones, and that year-end Seoul glow. Good plan if you want festive vibes without club volume.

Seoul Lantern Festival (Cheonggyecheon + Ui Stream) 🏮

K-Pop Demon Hunters Pop-Up (Seongsu)

Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters pop-up: themed space, official merch, and timed-entry slots. Membership days run first, then general reservations. Perfect pre-game if you’re already in Seongsu.
